Every Snap is a boom. I love the sound of Black men laughing especially. There’s an intimacy, joy, and resistance happening there all at once.

The bell video made me laugh and I still have no idea why you and your sister were laughing. But thank you!

Thank you David, I don't think we knew why we were laughing either! ha!

One of the clearest memories of my mother I have is of her laughing - it didn't come often, and it was only time she ever let her guard down.

I love that.

I used to get booted from class sometimes in Jr. high for "laughing too much." God I love that doubled over, eyes streaming kind of feeling.

I needed this today! I was just talking to my best friend this morning, and she had a night out last week with a group of friends where she and they laughed and laughed. And she said when she woke up the following morning, she felt REBORN. Laughter as a spiritual experience! And yesterday afternoon I listened to riotous laughter coming from my 83 year-old neighbour’s back porch, where she and a girlfriend were visiting with each other. It was music to my ears and a balm for my soul. It also made me grin and chuckle! This all has me reflecting on the last time I laughed so hard I thought my sides would split, and the previous times before that. Thank you!

Jeffrey thank you! “The closest thing you can do without touching,” caught my attention as well. I heard it from a therapist who talks a lot about relationships and intimacy And that was sort of my prompt for the day!

Oh the sweet bell of laughter! How it reverberates and becomes infectious.

I loved this Snap so much, Deirdre.

May laughter find us all this week. The kind that bellows in our bellies turning into tears on our faces.

This letter to laughter allowed me to reminisce about my own true guttural giggles. Thanks 🙏🏼 🫶

I loved everything, especially this: "Someone told me recently that laughing with another person is the closest you can get to them without touching, and I think that’s true." I may never forget this.

"Laughing with another person is the closest you can get to them without touching." This really caught my attention and it seems to resonate throughout the whole piece (as does the bell).

"Our sides were aching and burning and we were howling without a single sound coming out until we got spit out at the bottom where we all sighed in unison, looked at each other and said, Let’s do it again." I loved this.

“…were laughing like donkeys with our mouths wide open”

The imagery of that is so incredibly and brought forth memories.

My 4.5 year old just started really laughing. Like can’t stop laughing, hysterics type laughing. I can’t describe the feeling I have when I see the joy bubbling through him. Last night I heard him laughing in the bathroom and my first thought was “oh no…what is he doing in there.” Turns out he was just laughing at his own farts. 💨
