Slate-clapper: Scene From An Italian Movie, MOS, Take 1
A woman yells at a man who stands there dumbfounded. It looks as though it has been going for a hundred years. Her hands clutch and reach and shake. She shoves the air with the same energy it would take to push a fat person on a swing. She takes off one shoe and throws it at his head. He ducks. She takes off the other one. Same. Not even close. She is still yelling. The man listens and moves like he is standing on a ship on rough waters. She pulls out one leg from her pants and looks down, one hop, two hops, but she never stops yelling. The woman gets her pants off, flings them at his face, turns and walks. She is mad. Did I say that already? Steamed! He takes a step towards her but stops because she has pivoted and is headed back towards him. She is making gestures like she is stuffing things into her mouth, then she screams and shoves him. He’s broad in the chest, and he takes the hit, but one foot goes back. He shakes his head. He pleads, frowns. He realizes her pants are over his arm like he is a dresser attending royalty and he pulls them off and throws them to the ground. She looks at him disgusted. He tilts his head, shrugs. She takes this in. Such a small move, but it hits. She shakes her head trying not to smile. She turns away, breathes deep, closes her eyes standing still. She summons whatever she needs to summon. She starts to talk quietly as she unbuttons her shirt slowly walking away, letting it slide first over her shoulders and then down her arms. After it drops she stands still and he watches her breathe. She slowly looks over her shoulder directly at him. He takes her in. Everything stops, the entire world is on hold. He takes a slow step--
AND CUT!
"She shoves the air with the same energy it would take to push a fat person on a swing."
I am slain.
Good luck trying to get THAT on film.
Anyway, it’s a wrap.
