Oh hey, no big deal.
I was going to nonchalantly write about being woken up by a helicopter this morning and then quietly attach this post from Elizabeth Gilbert at the end, but then I changed my mind. Here it is, right at the top: Liz asked me to write a letter from love to myself and then read it on a video, and though I imagined it would be some form of torture, a little performative and not exactly genuine, it was not. Okay, it was, but it also wasn’t. I recommend it to you dear reader, if you are looking for something to do on a Sunday. It’s always cool to find out something you wanted to tell yourself.
Thank you to Liz and Margaret for including me and to all the new eyes directed over this way. xo
My heart flip flopped when I saw it was you! I can only imagine how you feel! I just read it and watched your video. YES!!!!
This line: "That you can’t be brave unless you’re also terrified. That you can’t be sure of a thing unless you’ve been unsure of a hundred things." Boom, there it is.
So happy for you, Deirdre. You deserve this spotlight. Just like Nino deserves a home with you. It's meant to be.
Your writing deserves all the plaudits and helicopters in the world!
